We also offer three more master’s degrees primarily online—the Master of Divinity (MDiv), MA in Theology and Ministry (MATM), and MA in Global Leadership (MAGL)—with flexible options for study.

Meeting Residency Requirements: HOW DOES IT WORK?

For primarily online degrees you can choose to complete all your coursework online, with just three one-week sessions at a Fuller campus (four sessions for the MDiv). Your program would include both fully online courses and “Hybrid Plus” courses.

Each Hybrid+ course consists of nine weeks of online study plus one week of face-to-face study at a campus. Hybrid+ courses are scheduled in pairs, so when you come to a campus for that face-to-face requirement, you will take two courses during your one-week stay.

For the Master of Divinity (MDiv), you would follow this plan:

Earn 32 units through eight Hybrid+ courses (four campus visits)
Earn your remaining units through online courses

Online-MDiv-Hybrid-Plus Model

For the MA in Theology and Ministry (MATM), you would follow this plan:

Earn 24 units through six Hybrid+ courses (three campus visits)
Earn your remaining units through online courses

You may schedule your Hybrid+ classes according to your needs: Take them all in one year, or one each year, or another combination during the quarters that work best for you. Hybrid+ courses are offered in rotation across Fuller’s campuses, with each course pair offered at a different campus each quarter.

Learn more about Hybrid+ courses and scheduled offerings.

For the MA in Global Leadership (MAGL), you would follow this plan:

Attend nine consecutive quarters with your cohort (seven online and two in 2-week on-campus intensives)
Earn your remaining units through online courses
